Vincent Kompany named Josip Stanisic at left-back and started an attacking quartet of Harry Kane, Serge Gnabry, Luis Diaz and Michael Olise. Bayern pressed aggressively, opened the scoring in the fourth minute after Olise's shot was saved and Diaz finished the rebound, and then doubled the lead when Diaz stole the ball from Marquinhos and scored.
