Bayern Munich expect to make big change against Borussia Monchengladbach
"After clinching a 4-0 win against Club Brugge on matchday three of the Champions League, Bayern turn their attention towards the Bundesliga game away at Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday. Gladbach are in atrocious form as they sit at the bottom of the Bundesliga points table, but they have been a bogey team for Die Roten in the recent past. Bayern will be travelling away for the midweek DFB Pokal clash against FC Koln."
"According to Bild, Bayern are planning to start Jonas Urbig in the goal against Gladbach. They want to give the young goalkeeper some game time before the DFB Pokal clash. Manuel Neuer has started all games this season apart from the first round of the DFB Pokal. It does look like Urbig is Bayern's DFB Pokal goalkeeper for this season."
"Since Bayern have to look at the bigger picture in the goalkeeping position since Neuer is not getting any young, they must start giving adequate game time to Urbig. The young goalkeeper shone last season when Neuer was out injured. Giving Urbig an opportunity against Gladbach, Die Roten are making sure that his growth doesn't stall by just being a backup goalkeeper to Neuer."
Bayern Munich have won twelve games across all competitions this season and remain unbeaten in the Bundesliga and Champions League, leading both tables. They also won the DFL Super Cup and progressed past the first round of the DFB Pokal. After a 4-0 Champions League win over Club Brugge, Bayern face Borussia Monchengladbach, who sit bottom of the Bundesliga but have troubled Bayern historically. Bayern will rotate their squad ahead of a midweek DFB Pokal trip to FC Koln and plan to start young goalkeeper Jonas Urbig against Gladbach to give him game time. Serge Gnabry is nearing a return from a minor injury.
