Alexander Nubel would like to stay at VfB Stuttgart, has no future at Bayern Munich

Alexander Nübel’s loan at VfB Stuttgart ended with his final appearance for the club, a 3-0 loss in the 2025/26 DFB-Pokal final. He joined Stuttgart on loan in summer 2023 after a previous loan spell at AS Monaco. Since moving to Bayern Munich from Schalke 04 in 2020, his playing time has been shaped by limited opportunities behind Manuel Neuer and contract conditions requiring a minimum number of matches. Talks reportedly took place between Stuttgart and Nübel’s representatives, with Stuttgart seeking to keep him. Bayern has no buy-on clause in the loan, but a permanent transfer could happen, with a likely fee between 10 and 15 million euros. Bayern has also listed him for sale, and Bayern’s lack of future plans makes a move away from the club the most likely outcome.
