FC Bayern restart their Bundesliga title defence on 11 January with a home match against VfL Wolfsburg while entering the second half of the season as league leaders. Head coach Vincent Kompany said the team will be playing for trophies in March, April and May and that the squad has laid a good foundation for the new year and decisive spring moments. On 18 January the Legends Cup at the SAP Garden will feature Bayern alongside Real Madrid, Juventus, Celtic, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund, with Philipp Lahm coaching the FC Bayern Legends. The 18 January schedule also includes the Africa Cup of Nations final in Rabat, Morocco, and Bayern forward Nicolas Jackson is a participant in the tournament.
