Anthony Gordon has joined Barcelona after leaving Newcastle United for a fee exceeding 80m euros. The England forward, aged 25, signed a contract with the La Liga champions through 2031. Advanced talks between the clubs led to an agreed transfer fee, and Gordon completed a medical on Thursday. Paperwork delays postponed his official unveiling by nearly eight hours at Spotify Camp Nou. Gordon said he was very excited but had to wait due to legal and minor details beyond his control. He spoke Spanish during his presentation, saying he learned the language because he believed he would play for Barcelona as a child. He will travel with the England squad to the United States for a training camp before the World Cup.
"He will join compatriot Marcus Rashford at Barca, but the Spanish club are yet to trigger an option to make the 28-year-old forward's loan move from Manchester United permanent for 26m."
