Austin Hedges scored the first run for the Guardians and proposed to his girlfriend, Lexi Dickinson, on the field after their 8-4 win over the Orioles. Hedges had the ring since early spring training and wanted to make the proposal special by winning the game. He has been dating Dickinson since November 2024 and is in his 12th major league season. Hedges is respected in the clubhouse, and many teammates witnessed the proposal. Afterward, he changed into a maroon suit for a celebratory dinner.
