Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) is set to introduce new flights this month, with a range of airlines including Southwest and Delta expanding their service. New nonstop routes will connect to various destinations like Milwaukee and Panama City, along with some seasonal services to locations such as Cancun. However, the airport is also bracing for a reduction in travel demand due to a softening economy, with officials noting uncertainty about the full impact it will have on passenger volumes.
"We are anticipating quite a bit of new service starting this month and over the next few months... Southwest, Frontier, Delta, WestJet and Spirit are adding service."
"We also have some new nonstops that will be launched between May and December... Most of those are year-round and there are some seasonal routes."
