Briefly

Will the Braves eventually drop Ozzie Albies from the top of the lineup?
Ozzie Albies’ batting order placement has shifted upward against right-handers over the first 18 games, moving from sixth to as high as second, with varying positions afterward. Team performance against right-handers shows a gap between Dominic Smith and Austin Riley, and Albies sits further below that gap. His results and projections against right-handers do not support consistently batting him higher. Against left-handers, the team has struggled overall, with offensive success largely driven by right-handed matchups. Albies ranks third in wOBA among a group of seven but has the worst xwOBA, and his poor xwOBA has repeated for a second year. Lineup management against right-handers may need adjustment as the season progresses.
"Albies does have the third-best wOBA in this group of seven, but the worst xwOBA. He does project in the top four or five against lefties, so from a lineup perspective, I'm not that concerned with his usage. The very bad xwOBA against lefties for a second year in a row is... not great, though. Anyway, the Braves probably won't face seemingly infinite lefties for the remainder of the season (though they will again today), so at some point, it seems like a change in lineup management against right-handers could be warranted. Will we see it?"
