Ronald Acuna, Jr. leaves game with apparent thumb issue
Ronald Acuña Jr. was replaced in the bottom of the sixth inning against the Miami Marlins by Eli White after an apparent thumb issue. Before taking the field in the bottom of the fifth, Acuña lingered near the dugout while his thumb was examined, then jogged back to right field. Acuña had contributed offensively by singling in two runs in the top of the fifth. The Braves were leading 6-2 at the time of his removal, and the change was initially viewed as precautionary. The Braves later stated the removal was due to pain in his left thumb.
