White Sox pitcher Jonathan Cannon expresses confidence in overcoming his spring training struggles, including allowing 22 hits in 11 1/3 innings. He identifies repeated pitch sequences as problematic and intends to integrate his changeup and cutter more effectively. While Senior Adviser Brian Bannister notes that some pitchers face difficulties due to Arizona's elevation, Cannon feels his mechanics are solid. Meanwhile, first baseman Andrew Vaughn is adjusting his batting technique to simplify his swing for better performance, emphasizing the need for a smoother transition at the plate.
Last start I fell behind a lot just trying to get back in the zone and was falling into the same sequences over and over... the other pitches are too good to ignore them.
Glad we were able to catch it and make the adjustments now... some pitchers just have a bad spring or give up more hits because we're a little more in elevation.
In college I had a really big move, I got away with it... the biggest thing is simplify, and get from A to B as quick and smooth as possible.
It feels good, I'm seeing the ball well and have to keep grinding with it.
