The Braves became the first MLB team to reach 30 wins after a series win and aim to sweep while extending a five-game winning streak. The Cubs’ offense has gone 5-for-56 in the series, with Ben Brown pitching after a strong start in Texas. Chris Sale counters with a season performance that includes Cy Young consideration. In the first inning, Sale struck out Suzuki on a slider down and in and then struck out Matt Shaw at 98 mph, leaving runners stranded. Brown retired the lead-off man, and Michael Busch made a short-hop backhand play to get Ozzie Albies. Matt Olson, the team’s power source with 14 home runs, was also struck out by Sale, giving three straight strikeouts to start the game.
