McIlroy fought back with a birdie on the 14th, and by the end of the round, both players were tied at 11 under. Sam Burns trailed by one shot, with Shane Lowry, Jason Day, and Justin Rose also in contention. Scottie Scheffler, starting 12 shots behind, shot a 65 to remain competitive.
