Braves Sign Eddie Rosario, Option Jarred Kelenic
Briefly

The Atlanta Braves recently signed veteran outfielder Eddie Rosario to a major league contract, subsequently optioning struggling outfielder Jarred Kelenic to Triple-A Gwinnett. Kelenic, once a top prospect, has had a disastrous start to the season, posting a dismal .167 batting average with 23 strikeouts in just 65 plate appearances. To make room for Rosario, the Braves designated right-handed pitcher Zach Thompson for assignment. Kelenic's struggles can be partly attributed to limited exposure to left-handed pitchers, with only six at-bats against them this season.
The Braves announced Monday that they've signed veteran outfielder Eddie Rosario to a major league contract and optioned fellow outfielder Jarred Kelenic to Triple-A Gwinnett.
Kelenic's demotion comes amid a calamitously poor start for the 25-year-old former top prospect who has opened the season with a .167 batting line.
