His strikeout rate fell from above 30% to about 23% in 2024, and his HR/FB rose, reducing effectiveness. After six poor innings he was traded from the Reds to the Dodgers and later claimed by the Braves. Diaz has registered a 179/204/150 ERA-/FIP-/xFIP- line in 15 MLB innings this year, remains arbitration-eligible, and shows persistent command and pitch-shape concerns. Connor Seabold has also returned to the bullpen with negative career fWAR.
