In an emphatic victory, the Gwinnett Stripers overcame a difficult fifth inning to top the Memphis Redbirds 11-6, securing the win with a strong offensive performance. Ian Anderson started for the Stripers, showing resilience despite the Redbirds scoring three runs off him. Early support came from James McCann and Cade Bunnell, who both contributed significantly with RBIs and home runs. After facing a brief deficit, Gwinnett surged back, scoring five unanswered runs to seal their win. With this victory, the Stripers displayed their offensive strength and ability to recover from challenging moments.
Leading by four, Anderson managed to get the leadoff guy out in the top of the fifth before running into trouble as Memphis tagged him for three earned runs, chasing him from the game.
While that was bad enough, Jhancarlos Lara had an atrocious outing when he was called upon to relieve Anderson.
The Stripers gave Anderson some early run support, as James McCann doubled home Carlos Rodriguez in the first inning to make it a 1-0 game.
From that point forward, it was all Stripers in this one.
