Braves add reliever Hector Neris, per reports
Briefly

The Atlanta Braves have signed veteran right-handed reliever Hector Neris as a non-roster invitee to their big-league camp. Neris brings extensive experience with 11 seasons in the majors, primarily as a relief pitcher, and serves as an option to help fill the gap left by Joe Jimenez, who is recovering from a serious knee injury. While Neris had a mixed performance last season, he excelled in 2023, making him a valuable addition to the Braves' bullpen as they gear up for the 2025 season.
Neris, who has pitched in parts of 11 big league seasons, split last year between the Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs, averaging 11.1 strikeouts per nine innings.
Atlanta still looks to replace Joe Jimenez, who will miss most of the 2025 season recovering from a knee injury; Neris provides experience as a late-inning option.
