wade and leta's colorful constellation of shapes and patterns spin on rooftop in china
Briefly

Wade and Leta's kinetic sculpture, Stop, Listen, Look, sits atop a commercial tower in Chengdu and interacts with the urban environment. Measuring seven meters tall, it features moving elements that respond to wind, sound, and human activity, creating an ever-changing aesthetic. This installation uniquely blends local architectural references and modern design, showcasing Chengdu's cultural identity while providing a platform for public interaction. It marks the duo's first large-scale public work in China and emphasizes a connection to the city’s rhythms through art.
The installation also features two seesaws and an embedded MIDI sound controller, allowing visitors to modulate the surrounding soundscape through touch and movement.
Stop, Listen, Look's visual language draws directly from Chengdu's architectural and cultural forms. Circular motifs - referencing the city's radial layout, Anshun Bridge, and the iconic Golden Sun Bird - appear throughout the work.
