The MFA in Media Arts at UCLA provides a rigorous three-year studio and research environment focused on contemporary arts practice with media and technology. Students engage in technical and theoretical seminars, group critiques, and individual faculty tutorials to question conventional ideas about art, technology, and new media while developing critical awareness of their own work. The program situates students in the School of the Arts and Architecture and offers mentorship from a diverse roster of faculty. Students gain access to university resources, 24-hour fabrication facilities, labs, sponsored assistantships, grants, fellowships, and a January 4, 2026 application deadline.
