"In January, we all have to put in a little extra effort to keep sane. With the dark evenings, cold stormy weather and our bank accounts drained from December's festivities, it's easy to just stay home and rot. But don't give in to that temptation - there are loads of things going on across London this month that help make these winter months a little less miserable."
"Other stuff going on as part of the Tate Collective's Wellness Week include two life-drawing sessions with 2B or Not 2B and free coffee at the Djanogly cafe. There's just one important thing to note - you need to be signed up to Tate Collective before you can access the activities and claim a complimentary coffee. And in order to do that, you must be between the ages of 16 and 25."
Tate Britain is staging a Wellness Week of free activities aimed at easing January blues. MoreYoga will host gallery yoga across six days with morning energising sessions at 8.30–9.30am on January 16, 21 and 24, and evening calming sessions at 6.30–7.30pm on January 20 and 22. Classes occur in Room 8 beneath nineteenth-century paintings including Waterhouse's 'The Lady of Shalott' and Sargent's 'Carnation, Lily, Lily, Rose'. Wellness Week also includes two life-drawing sessions with 2B or Not 2B and complimentary coffee at the Djanogly cafe. Activities require free Tate Collective membership for ages 16–25; members receive discounted exhibition entry and shop and cafe discounts. Free tickets for yoga and life drawing become available from 1pm on Thursday January 15.
