The eighth wonder of the world': China's terracotta warriors to march on Australia for blockbuster show
Briefly

The upcoming Terracotta Warriors exhibition at WA Museum Boola Bardip in Perth, opening on 28 June, promises to be a monumental event, featuring over 225 artefacts including 10 lifesize clay soldiers. These works represent both the significant archaeological discovery made in 1974 and the rich legacy of Qin Shi Huang's ancient China. With 70% of the displays making their Australian debut, the exhibition not only highlights the art and craftsmanship of the period but also delves into the history of China's first emperor and his quest for immortality.
Two thousand years ago, in a bid to conquer death itself, China's first emperor Qin Shi Huang commissioned a city of the dead: a 49 sq km mausoleum guarded by an army of clay warriors.
Developed in collaboration with the Shaanxi Cultural Heritage Promotion Centre and the Emperor Qin Shi Huang Mausoleum Museum, Terracotta Warriors features 10 of the lifesize clay soldiers... each weighing up to 180kg and standing 1.8m tall.
