Thaddaeus Ropac expands to New York, with Emilio Steinberger at the helm
"Many of the artists, estates and foundations we work with are in New York, and our work with American institutions and collectors has always been integral to the gallery's evolution,"
"Emilio is a consummate gallerist with an extraordinary depth of knowledge and dedication to working with artists he truly believes in, and supporting collectors with their vision."
"The many fantastic exhibitions and projects we work on with museums here are central to our work, as are the collectors who have trusted us for many years,"
"This new development means we'll have a suitable space to better serve them all."
Thaddaeus Ropac will open a Manhattan project space designed for focused, intimate presentations rather than a full exhibition programme. The gallery has appointed Emilio Steinberger as senior director in the US; he brings more than 35 years of New York art-world experience and previously served as senior partner at Lévy Gorvy Dayan. Many artists, estates and foundations represented by the gallery are based in New York, including major figures and estates across generations. The new space aims to provide a suitable venue to better serve American institutions, museum projects, longstanding collectors and artist estates.
