teamLab Biovortex Kyoto is set to open in Fall 2025 in Minami-ku, Kyoto. This immersive art space will explore experimental digital art combining perception, environment, and embodied experience. It aims to transform traditional notions of existence and physicality through interactive installations that respond to visitor movements. Key works include Massless Amorphous Sculpture, an unstable floating form, and Massless Suns, light spheres that illustrate interaction without materiality. Overall, the venue will challenge visitors' perceptions of reality and existence in a dynamic environment that evolves with engagement.
Among the highlights is Massless Amorphous Sculpture, an immersive, bubble-filled environment in which a vast floating form hovers mid-air. Shifting continuously, it resists the constraints of mass or boundary.
Also premiering at teamLab Biovortex Kyoto is Massless Suns and Dark Suns, a cognitive artwork formed of intangible light spheres. When touched, these spheres ripple across the space, yet they have no material surface and cannot be photographed.
