September 2025 Opportunities: Open Calls, Residencies, and Grants for Artists

A monthly newsletter shares open calls, grants, fellowships, residencies, and other opportunities for artists and designers. The Summer $1,800 Innovate Grants award two $1,800 grants each quarter to one visual artist and one photographer, plus twelve honorable mentions and website features; international applicants in any medium are eligible with a September 10, 2025 deadline. MONSTER Exhibition centers on the Kaiju theme and will be held Spring 2026 at Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin with a €25 (€15 student) fee and a September 30, 2025 deadline. Contemporary Reflection runs December 1–7 at Cornerstone Studios in London with a £20 fee and a November 1 deadline. Glen Arbor Arts Center’s INteriors runs January 9–March 12, 2026 with a $35 fee ($25 members) and a 2 p.m. EST November 5, 2025 deadline.

MONSTER Exhibition is an international art project that began in 2013, originally inspired by the overwhelming impact of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami. At its core lies the symbolic theme of the Kaiju-a creature that, in Japanese culture, represents both divine nature and destructive power. The 13th edition will take place in Spring 2026 at the historic Kunstquartier Bethanien in Berlin. The entry fee is €25 (€15 for students).Deadline: September 30, 2025.

Glen Arbor Arts Center Open Call for INteriors (International)The INteriors exhibition is an exploration of inner spaces, both real and imagined. The show will run from January 9 to March 12, 2026, and feature work made in the past three years. There is a $35 application fee ($25 for GAAC members).Deadline: 2 p.m. EST on November 5, 2025.
