"Formal studies have taken her places: a Chicago Art Institute Summer Figure Drawing Intensive in 2006; Portland Community College and Lane Community College in Oregon for Printmaking, Figure Drawing, and Design; a residency at the Vermont Studio Center and studies at Sadie Valerie Atelier in San Francisco in 2018. More recently, Wolfe-Goldsmith studied Arabic Calligraphy in Casablanca, Morocco, in 2023."
Rachel Wolfe-Goldsmith specializes in painting, murals, and public art, combining solo studio work with collaborative projects, events, and community programs. She leads the mural program at Solano State Prison, teaching and creating murals with incarcerated men, and founded Wolfe Pack Studios in Oakland as a creative clubhouse and event space. Formal studies include figure drawing, printmaking, residencies, and atelier training, with recent study of Arabic calligraphy in Casablanca in 2023. Born of Nigerian, Jewish, and European heritage and raised in Eugene, Oregon, she moved to Oakland in 2011 to join a supportive, collaborative Bay Area art community and expand interdisciplinary work across art, music, and entertainment.
