Protesters performed a choreographed dance in front of the Kennedy Center to oppose perceived rising authoritarianism and institutional changes under interim president Richard Grenell. The action took place amid nationwide events including the Remove the Regime march and a Lincoln Memorial fold-in. The Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works opened an investigation into alleged cronyism and corruption at the Kennedy Center. Dozens of staff, including the entire dance programming team, were fired, diverse programming was canceled, and staff mask-wearing was banned. Union leaders, former staff, and organizers taught the Nelken-Line by Pina Bausch as part of the Fall of Freedom call to action.
