Palo Alto Players presents a regional Bay Area premiere of a stage adaptation of Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, running Jan. 16–Feb. 1. Artistic Director Patrick Klein traveled to the Alley Theatre in Houston to evaluate the adaptation and decided the work translated effectively to the stage. The production follows a murder at the Louvre and symbology professor Robert Langdon teaming with police cryptographer Sophie Neveu to investigate, with Langdon becoming the prime suspect. Actor Christian Munck describes a strong connection to Langdon's nerdy, chaotic role and notes that the constant upheaval demands realtime acting responses, enhancing performance energy.
