Oceánica Ballet presents a two-act, family-friendly evening combining Washington Irving’s Legend of Sleepy Hollow and an original Día de los Muertos–inspired story titled Viva La Vida. Act One follows Ichabod as an outsider haunted by cruel townsfolk and the Headless Horseman while he seeks a sense of belonging. Act Two follows Lucio and Lupita in a multicultural tale of transcending loss and celebrating the resilience of love through folklórico-infused choreography. The production amplifies the wisdom of women across time and cultures, features spooky puppetry and creepy sounds, and is suitable for multigenerational audiences. Performances take place October 25 (4:00pm) and October 26 (2:00pm) at the College of San Mateo, with ticket discounts and a range of prices.
