
Eric Alan Hirt, known as Eson, died at age 47 after being struck and killed by a train in the early hours of May 13. He was reportedly walking along tracks near his home in North Miami when a Brightline passenger train hit him. His wife said the death was an accident, noting he was partially deaf and that the area was described as a quiet zone where trains are prohibited from using their horns. Hirt was a member of the Miami Style Gods crew and was known for tagging street infrastructure across dangerous urban spaces. He appeared in a 2018 VICE documentary and described street tagging as addictive. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, his brother, and his mother.
