Melissa Chiu, director of the Hirshhorn Museum since 2014, is transitioning to lead the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. She has significantly increased fundraising, doubled attendance, and secured major gifts during her tenure. Chiu also oversaw a $68 million garden renovation set to open in October. Aaron Seeto will serve as interim director at the Hirshhorn. At the Guggenheim, Chiu will work under Mariët Westermann, who will focus on the foundation's global branches.
