"We live in an age defined by boundaries, RM said in a press release announcing the display. This exhibition at SFMOMA reflects those boundaries: between East and West, Korea and America, the modern and the contemporary, the personal and the universal. I don't want to prescribe how these works should be seen; whether out of curiosity or study, all perspectives are welcome. SFMOMA will present 200 works from BTS rapper and songwriter RM's personal art collection in a U.S.-only gallery display beginning October 3, 2026, and running through February 7, 2027. The exhibition assembles works by South Korean artists including Yun Hyong-keun, Park Rehyun, Kwon Okyon, Kim Yun Shin, To Sangbong, and Chang Ucchin, among others. RM frames the selection as reflecting boundaries between East and West, Korea and America, the modern and the contemporary, and the personal and the universal. The museum hopes the show will offer multiple perspectives and serve as a bridge for diverse audiences. The exhibition arrives amid intense local interest in BTS live dates in the Bay Area.
