"Venice represents a place where art is an intrinsic part of everyday life and where the Biennale artists of today sit in dialogue with these great Venetian artworks,"
"It's a great honour to have the opportunity to exhibit in Venice."
"Saville's practice is deeply rooted in the history of painting, and at Ca' Pesaro her monumental canvases will engage in dialogue with the great painters of the past present in Venice, creating a unique encounter between contemporary painting and the city's artistic heritage,"
"aim to document the development of Saville's work by tracing her career from her beginnings in the 1990s to the present day,"
Jenny Saville will present a major solo exhibition at Ca' Pesaro in Venice from March 21 to November 26, 2026, coinciding with the Venice Biennale. The show, curated by Elisabetta Barisoni and supported by Gagosian, will comprise 30 paintings that trace Saville's development from the 1990s to the present. Ca' Pesaro is a Baroque marble palace facing the Grand Canal, where her monumental canvases will engage with Venetian artistic heritage. Saville, born in 1970 in Cambridge, has seen strong market demand and increased institutional recognition after recent major museum shows in London, Venice, and Fort Worth.
