Get illuminated in at the Napa Lighted Art Festival
"This year, we have artists from Australia, Indonesia, Canada, Germany and local artists, too,"
"We're proud to bring this to the West Coast. We're obviously known for wine, but we're getting more and more on the map for art."
"It's free, and a lot of families come multiple nights,"
Napa's Lighted Art Festival runs Jan. 17–Feb. 15 and transforms downtown into a free, walkable outdoor showcase of light-based public art. Fifteen installations blend sculpture, projection art, interactive exhibits and giant Roaming Gnomes. Elaborate projection artwork will animate three historic downtown facades for the first nine nights. International and local artists from locations such as Australia, Indonesia, Canada and Germany contribute work. Featured pieces include an interactive Trumpet Flowers exhibit that invites visitors to create a light show set to a jazz composition and Anubis, four giant sculptures that glow with dynamic, psychedelic doodle. The event draws families and provides seasonal evening respite.
