Kimberley Belflower's John Proctor is the Villain reimagines Arthur Miller's The Crucible as a high-school-set drama in rural Georgia blending pop music, optimism and rage. The plot follows five female classmates who study The Crucible and become embroiled in Crucible-like events while debating whether John Proctor or Abigail Williams is the real villain. Danya Taymor's seven-time Tony-nominated Broadway production will be restaged at the Royal Court for its 70th anniversary season. Casting for the London run is TBA.
