"Opened to the public in 1993, YBCA was founded as the cultural anchor of San Francisco's Yerba Buena Gardens neighborhood. Our work spans the realms of contemporary art, performance, film, civic engagement, and public life. Centering artists as essential to social and cultural movement, YBCA is reimagining the role an arts institution can play in the community it serves. Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) operates as a multidisciplinary cultural institution in San Francisco's SOMA neighborhood, presenting contemporary art, performance, film, civic engagement, and public programs. The main gallery and forum entrance is at 701 Mission Street; the theater entrance is at 700 Howard Street. Galleries are open Wednesday through Sunday, 11 AM–5 PM, and closed Monday–Tuesday. General admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and free for youth, military, and Museums for All participants. Entry is free every Wednesday and on second Sundays. Museums for All participants must present a benefits card and purchase tickets at the on-site ticket desk.
