"Ready to get meta? As February comes near a close, Third Rail Repertory is staging Sam Holcroft's meta-theatrical , where dual identities blur the line between reality and illusion and audience members may or may not be wedding guests. Meanwhile, at Ethos Music Center, a Zeitgeist Fashion Show presented by Foxhole Projects and Fina's Creations provides the framework for Portland stories; and Milagro is staging the farce Los Empeños de una Casa by the 17 th century nun/playwright Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz."
""Into the Woods" with Funhouse Lounge A rich thicket of meaning, Stephen Sondheim's Tony-winning 1986 musical, with a book by James Lapine, can be enjoyed on multiple levels. While it's a darkly humorous fairy tale mashup, the show is also a metaphor for loss. With characters in the potent second act disappearing at a disturbing rate, many people also see the work specifically as a version of the AIDS epidemic."
