Janne Sirén will leave his position as director of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum in October after 13 years. His tenure included a $230 million campus renovation and expansion project completed in 2023. Sirén cites both professional and personal reasons for his departure, including the completion of the expansion and changes in his family life. Under his leadership, the museum's staff grew significantly, the endowment increased, and annual visitor numbers reached 340,000, reflecting a commitment to the local community.
