County behavioral health advisers will visit Los Gatos Library on Jan. 6
"New Museum Los Gatos is hosting free workshops to make accordion books Thursdays-Sundays through Feb. 1. Accordion books, also known as leporello, are single, long sheets of paper or connected sheets folded in a zigzag pattern. The workshops were inspired by book and fiber artist Jody Alexander. NUMU also has an exhibit up called Stitches & Wiggles: Unraveled and Reimagined Mixed Media Art by Alexander and Thomas Campbell."
"In the workshop, visitors will learn how to fold and glue pages to create 12 spaces, one for each month of the year. People can also choose or design their own front and back covers. Accordion books can be used for sketching, reflecting on intentions for the new year or to gift to a friend. The workshop will be hosted in NUMU's makerspace at 106 E. Main St. The program is free with admission."
"Social stitching Los Gatos Library is hosting an event for needlework and textile art enthusiasts on Jan. 5. People of all skill levels are invited to bring their projects and chat, teach, learn and make new friends. This event recurs weekly. The group is entirely self-directed, and participants are encouraged to bring their own tools and materials. A member of the Santa Clara County Behavioral Health Navigator team will visit Los Gatos Library on Jan. 6."
