Altman-Siegel Gallery will close at the end of November after 16 years, with the Shinpei Kusanagi show running through November 15. Shipyard Open Studios takes place Saturday and Sunday the 18th and 19th, featuring more than 130 painters, metal artists, jewelers, furniture makers, ceramicists, photographers and other makers opening their studios to the public from 11am to 6pm; admission is free with RSVP. Enterprise Brewing will host a Biergarten, Radio Afrika Kitchen will serve North African and Mediterranean dishes, and J&D's BBQ will offer grilled meats and sides, plus live music and a metal-bending demonstration. Litquake runs through October 25 with readings, gatherings and concerts across Bay Area venues. Orchestra Gold celebrates the release of Dakan with an album-release show at 7th West in Oakland, with an early 3pm set and support from cumbia outfit Combo Tezeta.
