355 Oregon arts groups get 2026 state grants * Oregon ArtsWatch
"While federal funding for arts and culture is being cut to the bone by the Trump Administration, the Oregon Arts Commission, despite a tight state budget due in part to federal cutbacks in many areas ranging from health care and food assistance to transportation infrastructure and public radio and television, is bumping up its annual Sustaining Arts Program grants by a little more than $100,000."
"Grants go to a broad spectrum of arts groups, from $2,368 to the Portland Fire Fighters Pipes and Drums to $5,000 each for the Arts Council of Pendleton, the Sunriver Music Festival and the Hoffman Center for the Arts in Manzanita; $2,368 each for the Salem Philharmonia Orchestra, Willamette University's Theatre 33, the Southern Oregon Film Society in Ashland and Cascade Singers in The Dalles; $11,832 to Eugene Ballet Company; $11,832 to the Native Arts & Culture Foundation in Portland;"
State funding for the Sustaining Arts Program increases by about $100,000 to a total of $1,759,580 for fiscal year 2026, to be shared by 355 nonprofit arts organizations. Individual grants range from $1,000 to $20,000 and are intended to help organizations cover necessities of operation. A newly updated funding formula determines awards based on an organization’s annual expenses, number of applications and available grant funds. Recipients include a wide variety of groups, from small community ensembles and regional festivals to museums, literary organizations and major art institutions across the state.
