San Francisco marks the 50th anniversary of the first giant public menorah outside Israel, created by Bill Graham, with an eight-night Union Square festival December 14–22, 2025. The event schedule features daily menorah lightings, live music performances, children's crafts and shows, community parties, and ceremonies honoring civic leaders, families, the SFPD, and diverse Jewish community groups. Featured performers include the Bill Graham All Stars and other local artists. Additional activities include Thrive City events, YJP Chanukah LUX, a Chanukah party at NEMA, a menorah car parade, and a grand finale lighting honoring the Russian Jewish-speaking community.
