Artists navigate uncertainty, offering responses such as curiosity and alternative imagining during crises. Two historical tendencies emerge—Constructivism seeks new order while Dada amplifies chaos. Currently, in the context of AI art, artists can be perceived as builders and breakers. Builders leverage AI to create new aesthetics and collaborations, while breakers offer critique and disruption. These strategies represent a complex engagement with a rapidly changing world, with emphasis on collaboration between human and machine.
"I view technology not just as a tool but as a collaborator," Chung says. Their work explores shared agency—even identity—between human and machine, code and gesture.
Builders see possibilities in aligning multidisciplinary tools with concepts to produce previously impossible works, urging reflection on future possibilities.
