Tall Tales is a critique of AI - so why do people think it was made with AI?
Briefly

Jonathan Zawada, a multidisciplinary artist, collaborated with producer Mark Pritchard on the visual accompaniment for Thom Yorke's new album, Tall Tales. Initially intimidated by Yorke, Zawada found him to be a strong and clear collaborator. Over five years, their partnership involved Zawada receiving musical sketches and creatively responding with visual ideas inspired by historical artists like Bruegel and Bosch. Now, the visual experience is being showcased in select theaters, though it's receiving mixed responses from the audience.
I'm a massive fan, and I've found he's kind of a terrifying person...He's so switched on, and he's so clear and concise... I was very nervous a lot of the time.
Five years later, the album is now available and Zawada's accompanying 'visual experience' is in select theaters today.
The movie features a carnival of eerie, unnerving monsters set against mesmerizing landscapes...which echoes the style of Dutch masters like Bruegel and Bosch, twisted into something modern.
Despite being intimidated, Zawada found Yorke to be a great collaborator, working closely on initial sketches and concepts before the album's completion.
