OpenClaw will be placed in a foundation as an open source project that OpenAI will continue to support. Steinberger emphasized the importance of keeping OpenClaw open source after discussions with major labs. OpenClaw originated as Clawdbot, a messaging bot that automates third-party services when provided user credentials.
