"The app says it will begin testing a new preference for AI within its Manage topics menu. It'll allow you to select whether you want to see more or less AI-generated content in your feed. The feature can be found under Settings > Content preferences > Manage topics. The brand currently has toggles for Creative Arts, Dance, Fashion & Beauty, Food & Drinks, Health & Fitness, Humor, Lifestyle, Nature, Pets, Sports, and Travel."
"TikTok also says it will add "invisible watermarks" to content that it believes is AI-generated. The brand already uses C2PA Content Credentials tech to identify videos, using metadata to tell other platforms a video is AI-generated. As videos are reuploaded and shared by other accounts, that metadata can be lost in the process. These new watermarks are designed to follow the video no matter how many times it's uploaded."
TikTok believes over a billion videos on its platform were created using AI. TikTok is testing a new AIGC preference in the Manage topics menu to let users choose whether they want to see more or less AI-generated content. The preference is located under Settings > Content preferences > Manage topics and joins existing toggles for categories like Creative Arts, Fashion & Beauty, Food & Drinks, and more. Each topic offers five levels, including options for fewer or more videos and a default. Selecting less reduces how often AI-generated videos appear but does not remove them entirely. TikTok will add invisible watermarks to content it believes is AI-generated. The platform already uses C2PA Content Credentials to mark AI videos via metadata, and the invisible watermarks are intended to persist even when metadata is lost through reuploads. The AIGC preference is currently in testing with no official release date announced.
