After a successful experiment with AI judges at the Winter X Games, Jeremy Bloom is launching Owl AI, a new company focused on using AI to officiate and score sporting events. The platform recently secured $11 million in seed funding, with Josh Gwyther, former Head of AI at Google Cloud, appointed as CEO. Originally, the idea stemmed from a collaboration with Google cofounder Sergey Brin, aimed at eliminating biases in judging. With proven technology, Owl AI is set to debut in events like the Summer X Games.
When I initially reached out to Sergey, this idea had been on my mind since I was a competitor a couple of decades ago.
I've been focused on generative AI for the last four and a half years, and Owl AI blends two things that I love: sports and AI.
