Google Testing AI Overview With Knowledge Panel
Briefly

Google may be testing a new AI Overview format that omits the AI Overview label and appears to combine knowledge panel features. The right-side information appears as stacked cards rather than a vertical list, changing the visual presentation and interaction. A user posted images and a video on X and SERPalert showing the new layout, and the poster could not reproduce the result on their own account. Google previously confirmed experiments with AI Mode and AI Overviews aimed at increasing clicks; the observed layout could represent one of those experiments. The change may aim to drive more user engagement with the right-side panel.
