Google Photos gets Nano Banana and AI templates
"Nano Banana has been a huge success for Google's Gemini AI, and now it's coming to Google Photos as well. This means you will be able to describe the edits you want to see made to a photo, right inside Google Photos. Just tap Help me edit in the editor and tell Nano Banana what you want, then it will take care of it."
"This will feature ready-made AI templates so you don't even have to come up with your own prompt. This is rolling out "starting this week" in the US and India. And "in the coming weeks", Google will also roll out personalized templates in the US, which use "insights about you from your photo gallery to create edits unique to your hobbies and experiences", the company says."
"Ask Photos, the tool that helps you find specific photos and searches your gallery in a natural, AI-powered way, is now rolling out to more than 100 new countries and regions and 17 new languages. There's also a new Ask button which helps you instantly get answers about, for example, a photo's content. And speaking of asking, the redesigned photo editor, including the ability to describe the edits you want, is now rolling out on iOS in the US."
Nano Banana is being integrated into Google Photos to let users describe desired edits directly inside the editor via the Help me edit option. A new Create with AI section will provide ready-made AI templates so users do not need to write prompts. The initial template rollout begins this week in the US and India. Personalized templates in the US will appear in the coming weeks and will use insights from users' photo galleries to create edits tied to hobbies and experiences. Ask Photos is expanding to more than 100 additional countries and 17 languages, and a new Ask button and redesigned editor are rolling out on iOS in the US.
