Elon Musk confirms Tesla AI6 chip is Project Dojo's successor
Briefly

Tesla is discontinuing the Project Dojo initiative to concentrate its resources on the AI5 and AI6 chip designs. CEO Elon Musk confirmed that these chips will be utilized to train the company's Full Self-Driving (FSD) and Autopilot systems effectively, reducing complexity and costs in supercomputer clusters. The AI6 chip is anticipated to replace Dojo and is essential for Tesla's next wave of consumer products, which include Optimus, Cybercab, and the next-generation Roadster. These chips leverage core design elements from Dojo's D1 chip.
In a supercomputer cluster, it would make sense to put many AI5/AI6 chips on a board, whether for inference or training, simply to reduce network cabling complexity & cost by a few orders of magnitude.
AI6 is now Dojo; Dojo is Tesla's AI training supercomputer, built around a custom chip known as the D1, sharing many core design elements with AI5/AI6.
