College Says Every Student Is Now Required to Use AI
Briefly

Ohio State University is implementing a bold initiative requiring all students to use AI in their coursework starting this fall. The initiative, dubbed 'AI Fluency', is designed to equip students with dual expertise: both in their major field of study and in applying AI within that context. University leaders, like Provost Ravi Bellamkonda, believe this focus on AI will empower students to harness its potential responsibly. Early reports from faculty indicate that students are enthusiastic about this new approach, which some feel enhances their learning experience.
Through AI Fluency, Ohio State students will be 'bilingual' - fluent in both their major field of study and the application of AI in that area.
A student walked up to me after turning in the first batch of AI-assisted papers and thanked me for such a fun assignment.
