Many developers feel that this sycophancy hampers the truth-seeking nature desired in a coding assistant.
Claude is way too sycophantic, saying 'You're absolutely right!' (or correct) on a sizable fraction of responses. The model should be RL'd to make it less sycophantic.
Sycophancy annoys me personally because it points the model away from truth-seeking. I want my coding agent to help me accomplish a goal, not flatter my ego.
